-Designed for fracture fixation in veterinary with AO head locking system
The LC-DCP (Limited Contact Dynamic Compression Plate) is a type of orthopedic implant designed for fracture fixation in veterinary. Its primary purpose is to stabilize long bone fractures through dynamic compression, promoting osseous union while minimizing disruption to periosteal blood supply due to its reduced bone-contact surface area.
LC-DCP plates are categorized into four types based on screw diameters: 2.0 mm, 2.4 mm, 2.7 mm, and 3.5 mm, allowing tailored fixation for different bone sizes and fracture complexities. Smaller plates (2.0–2.7 mm) are ideal for delicate bones (e.g., small animals), while 3.5 mm systems suit larger bones (e.g., medium/large breed). They are widely used in both acute fractures (open or closed) and nonunion cases, particularly where anatomical alignment and rigid fixation are critical. The design facilitates minimally invasive techniques (e.g., MIPPO—Minimally Invasive Percutaneous Plate Osteosynthesis), reducing soft tissue damage.
LC-DCP’s limited-contact design preserves cortical blood flow compared to traditional compression plates, lowering risks of bone necrosis and delayed healing. However, its biomechanical stability may be inferior to newer locking plates (e.g., LCP) in osteoporotic bone or complex fractures, where screw pull-out resistance is critical. Additionally, improper plate length or screw configuration in large breeds or high-stress regions may increase peri-implant fracture risks.

Remark:
1. Customization is available upon request with samples or drawings. Custom colors are available to meet certain MOQ requirements.
2. Adaptable to AO locking screws and cortical nails.
3. There is no minimum order, plates and screws are ordered separately, only plates are included on this page.
4. It is recommended to purchase with locking screws to minimize fixation problems caused by tolerances of plates and screws between factories. Cortical screws do not have adaptability problems.
